Welcome to another awsome english lesson!!!!
Today our teacher projected a video of a videoconference between many teachers around the world. All of them were talking about the RSS system.
This system allows people to receive the latest news from a website on which they took a feed… you don’t understand? OKay so here is the article i found in wikipedia and which perfectly explains the behaviour of this system.
“RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content including, but not limited to, blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts.[2] An RSS document (which is called a “feed” or “web feed” [3] or “channel”) contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays.[3]
RSS content can be read using software called an “RSS reader”, “feed reader” or an “aggregator“. The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed’s link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader checks the user’s subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds.”

So we can see that this syndication system is really useful for websites which are frequently updated.
But personnaly, the most intersting thing for me was the program used by the teachers. This program is used to have a conference with many people in the same time. It is a window-like program with on the left side the list of the persons participating to the conference, in the middle an interactive board which can be used to show some slides or which can also be used to have a common use. All the people can have a chat and can use microphone to speak to other. When someone stop talking another one can talk and every body can chat in the same time. This is a wonderful tool to be connected with many people in the same time wherever they are.
